FAO All Clubs & Additional Signatories – SYFA, SWF and SPF
Background
Following our update in December, we would like to provide further information.
The Scottish Youth Football Association (SYFA); Scottish Women’s Football (SWF); and Scottish Para Football (SPF) along with the Scottish FA will process PVGs through a new joint venture, Grassroots Football PVG (GF PVG).
Details
This will go live at 9am on Wednesday (15th January) and no PVG applications should be sent to GF PVG until that point.
GF PVG will be jointly staffed by SYFA and SWF. ID checks at the point of application will initially be carried out by SYFA Additional Signatories.
This will be a more significant change for SWF teams, and we would kindly ask that the SYFA clubs/additional signatories who can, help out their SWF counterpart when possible, for the time being.
What do I need to do?
Over the course of Monday and Tuesday, information videos and ‘how-to’ guides will appear in inboxes/support sites/social media to help you navigate through the new process. Please be sure to familiarise yourself with this to prepare for the new venture going live on Wednesday and being able to move forward with applications. Please also cascade to relevant officials in your club to ensure that no one who needs this info is left out.
Wellbeing Teams across SYFA and SWF will be on hand to help support you as best we can as we transition to the new venture, but please be patient. We will also update you with new training opportunities as they arise.
Conclusion
This is an exciting move forward that we know will help deliver consistency across our game, help de-duplicate work for our valued volunteers, but importantly help keep our children and young people safe in a sport we all love.
